Discover STEM, develop talents, open up perspectives

Join MINT is a program run by the Upper Austrian Employment Service (Arbeitsmarktservice OÖ) and the state of Upper Austria that sparks curiosity, promotes talent and shapes the future. Mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology are the keys to tomorrow’s world. We bring enthusiasm, knowledge and a spirit of discovery to the very places where creative minds are growing up.

Together, we open up new perspectives and make STEM visible, tangible and attractive. Join MINT is launching its first offering, the “Star Truck,” to introduce young people to fields of study that are relevant for the future—more exciting formats will follow.

Star Truck: The STEM experience truck right outside your school

As a mobile economic and technological experience center, the Star Truck travels through Upper Austria, bringing STEM directly to schools.

In five exciting themed worlds, students have the opportunity to explore STEM subjects up close. From interactive technology stations to informative workshop formats, the truck offers numerous opportunities to marvel, explore and participate.

Always on board: Nova—the AI crew member who guides visitors through the exciting worlds of experience and opens up new perspectives. The truck encourages creative thinking and awakens the spirit of discovery in a very special way.

Star Truck

Start of the tour: The tour starts on March 2, 2026.

Area of operation: The Star Truck travels throughout Upper Austria to schools and selected events.

Target group:

  • Students in the career exploration phase
  • Unemployed young people and adults
  • Young people looking for apprenticeships
  • Young people in transitional measures

Duration of stay: How long the truck stays on site depends on the formats booked.

Costs: Participation is free of charge for schools.

Discover STEM in 5 worlds

The Star Truck offers five diverse STEM experience worlds: collaborative robotics, artificial intelligence, networking, sensor technology, and materials technology. These topics convey in a practical and interactive way how modern technologies shape everyday life and what potential they offer for the future.

Collaborative robotics

When humans and machines work together, a new quality of work emerges: safer, more efficient and with more room for creativity. Collaborative robotics shows how technological support does not replace humans, but rather strengthens and relieves them in a targeted manner.

Nowadays, robots support many areas of life—from production and logistics to medicine, nursing and catering. In the Star Truck, students experience firsthand how these intelligent machines take on tasks, make everyday life easier and create new opportunities. This clearly shows how technology directly supports people.

Artificial intelligence

Smart systems for a smart world: AI analyzes, learns and supports us, enabling us to accomplish complex tasks more quickly and easily. Technology thus becomes a co-thinker and catalyst for a livable future.

Whether in medicine, road traffic or art, artificial intelligence supports people as a collaborative tool. In tha Star Truck, students discover how AI helps to recognize connections, improve decisions and create new opportunities for the future.

Networking

Interacting automated processes ensure the smooth cooperation of technical systems – intelligently coordinated, forward-looking and constantly connected. This makes technology a flexible partner that makes our world smarter.

In today’s hyperconnected world, machines, devices and systems communicate in real time: drones fly autonomously, vehicles move independently and smart factories respond to data in a matter of seconds. Sensors, networks and intelligent technologies keep everything moving – precisely, efficiently and in fascinating harmony.

Sensor Technology

Responsive helpers in everyday life make our environment safer and more comfortable. Intelligent sensors perceive what we ourselves cannot see, thereby creating a new interaction between people, space and technology.

Sensors extend human senses: they detect obstacles in traffic, control lighting and temperature at home, and guide us safely through smart cities. Students experience a world that combines digital and haptic experiences – for an environment that thinks, reacts, and supports.

Materials and substances

Features that make the difference – versatile, innovative and precisely tailored to the application. Because only through the targeted adaptation of materials can innovations be created that make technology lighter, stronger, and more sustainable.

At this station, students discover how versatile and fascinating materials can be – from smooth to rough, flexible to hard, light to heavy. Different structures, surfaces, and properties show how materials can be specifically adapted and what role they play in technical innovations.

Workshops for curious minds

After gaining practical insights in the five interactive worlds on the ground floor of the Star Truck, students have the opportunity to delve deeper into individual STEM topics in exciting workshops on the upper floor. Here, they reflect and conduct research in small groups with the aim of making STEM professions more tangible. Accompanying teaching materials support teachers in continuing the content in the classroom and anchoring it in the long term.

Im Obergeschoss des Star Trucks wird MINT-Wissen in Form von Workshops vertieft.
